WELCOME TO
OUR CLUB
WEBSITE!!!

Its purpose is ...

1.   to provide a resource for existing members, and

2.   to encourage anyone new to the game or the area to join us.

Walton-on-Thames

Although both sections of our website are accessible to all via the menus at the top of each page, you will probably, in the first instance, wish to view either the VISITORS or the MEMBERS Sections.

These can be accessed directly from the 2 main links below or from the menu above. The top menu will also take you directly to our LINKS and CONTACT Pages. Each of the 2 main sections have their own menus with information directly relevant to VISITORS and to MEMBERS respectively. Please use these menus to navigate around the site from whatever page you are on.

You can at any time return directly to this Entry Page by pressing the HOME Button. We hope the menu titles are self-explanatory and we trust you will find the information you may need in here somewhere ...

IN BRIEF - ABOUT OUR CLUB

Bowls

We are situated very close to the centre of Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, in the north-western corner of the Elm Grove Recreation Ground.

Our outdoor 6-rink bowling green is open every year from April to September.

Our Club has a long history, dating back to 1922. You can find out more about our past 90 years by visiting the
'ABOUT US' Page in the VISITORS SECTION

To find out more about what is happening during our current season go to the
'NOTICEBOARD' Page in the MEMBERS SECTION

WE EXTEND A PARTICULAR WELCOME TO NEW MEMBERS

New members, both beginners and experienced players, of whatever age, and whether interested in competitive or just social bowling, are always welcome.

Our Qualified Club Coaches will be pleased to offer, free of charge, an introduction to the game
as well as any necessary bowls instruction.

We are also able to offer Associate Membership to those who do not play bowls but
who wish to participate in our many social events.

Please do get in touch if you are at all interested in finding out more about us, but first of all, why not
take a look at the 'JOIN US'Page in the VISITORS Section? To find it, just click on the link in the top menu.

You can contact us for details of what we have to offer, or just to express an interest in finding out
more about our club, by emailing our Membership Secretary. HERE, or from the 'Contact Us' Section on the top menu.

If you fancy a more direct approach, just come along to the club from 6 p.m. on any Tuesday evening
(late April to mid-September) and try us out.

TECHNICAL NOTE

Suggestions for adding to our website, or for making it more user-friendly, are welcome - particularly constructive comments!

The way the web pages appear on individual screens will depend on both your screen resolution and also on the web browser which you use. This website has been designed using a 1280 x 960 display. If your own screen resolution has a smaller setting (e.g. 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600), you may find the page easier to view if you adjust your screen resolution to a setting of 1280 x 960 or larger. This should prevent the print size from appearing too large and should allow the whole page to be viewed without the need to scroll horizontally.

Settings can normally be adjusted by right-clicking on the desktop, clicking 'Properties', then 'Settings', then adjusting the slide bar.

The appearance of these web pages will also differ according to which browser is being used. They have been tested, but not exhaustively, in MS Internet Explorer (the most commonly used browser), in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firebird, Opera, and in Safari. Each of these browsers will display the webpages slightly differently and there are likely to be some unintended consequences in whatever browser is used.

TO AVOID ANY OVERLAPS OF TEXT AND IMAGES, OR THE POSSIBLE LINE-WRAP OF MENU ITEMS, YOU ARE ADVISED TO WORK WITH AS LARGE A SCREEN WINDOW AS POSSIBLE.

Please let us know of any significant problems you may find with these browsers or with any others being used. If you notice any errors in the content or bugs in the operation of the website then please also let us know.

We shall endeavour to keep the information on our website as up-to-date as possible, but there will from time-to-time be a delay in updating information.
